NCAA Rowing

June 18-21

Grades 9-12 as of Fall 2018

We welcome you to attend the 2018 Athletic Training Summer Camp. This camp is for high school students and is intended to teach basic athletic training skills. The focus will be on anatomy and injury prevention techniques as they relate to athletics. This will be reinforced through a dynamic anatomy overview and a “classroom to the clinic” approach.

The camp will include both lectures and group discussions. Interactive lab sessions in the Ohio Stadium Recruit Room will be used to complement the lectures and allow you to practice taping, splinting, bracing and specific exercises. Additionally, you will practice on-field skills inside Ohio Stadium, right on the field! The goals for this workshop are to give you insight into the field of athletic training and to assist you with basic skills that will allow you to help and gain experience at your high school.

The Ohio State University Athletic Training staff will facilitate all lectures, discussions and labs. This format will allow for direct contact with fulltime Division I Certified Athletic Trainers.

Come to learn from the best. The Ohio State Advanced Women’s Rowing Camp teaches the attributes of great rowers/coxswains and how to implement them in your training. The camp will explore rowing/sculling technique, mental training, ergometer training, nutrition, strength training, recovery, basic recruiting, and life as a college rower.

Olympic Gold medalist, Anna Goodale, will be sharing her years of experience as an elite rower. She will be guiding you throughout camp to the next level of your rowing career. This rewarding experience will be fun and challenging as you learn how to be a great rower on and off the water!

This four day camp is designed for beginning and experienced high school rowers and coxswains. Athletes will be grouped according to experience. Beginners will learn the basics while experienced rowers will be maximizing the rowing stroke.

If you want to improve your technical skills for competition, experience elite coaching, and have fun this camp is for you! Come for the excellent coaching, ideal water, and a look inside one of the fastest collegiate rowing programs in the country. What are you waiting for?

Coxswains: Additional programing is designed for coxswains. We will work on leadership, finding your voice, tape review and essentials on how to help your boat go fast!

Campers can expect 2-3 workouts a day (either on the water or on land) with video review, mental training and fun in between.

Our experienced staff includes a combination of Anna Goodale, Kate Sweeney, Robbie Tenenbaum, Catherine Shields and a select few current student athletes. These top-notch coaches offer a variety of experiences, expertise and support.
