Advanced Rowing Camp

Come to learn from the best. The Ohio State Advanced Women’s Rowing Camp teaches the attributes of great rowers/coxswains and how to implement them in your training. The camp will explore rowing/sculling technique, mental training, ergometer training, nutrition, strength training, recovery, basic recruiting, and life as a college rower.

Olympic Gold medalist, Anna Goodale, will be sharing her years of experience as an elite rower. She will be guiding you throughout camp to the next level of your rowing career. This rewarding experience will be fun and challenging as you learn how to be a great rower on and off the water!

This five day camp is designed for beginning and experienced high school rowers and coxswains. Athletes will be grouped according to experience. Beginners will learn the basics while experienced rowers will be maximizing the rowing stroke.

Coxswains: Additional programming is designed for coxswains. We will work on leadership,
finding your voice, tape review and essentials on how to help your boat go fast!

What to Wear/Bring

Spandex shorts, t-shirt, athletic shoes, socks, sunscreen, sunglasses, hat, reusable water
bottle, and overnight essentials.

CAMP STAFF:

ANNA GOODALE – CAMP DIRECTOR

Olympic gold medalist and 4-time World Rowing Champion, Anna Goodale, is in her fourth season as an assistant coach with The Ohio State University’s Women’s Rowing team. Goodale works primarly with
the Buckeye novices.

Our experienced staff also includes a combination of Kate Sweeney, Robbie Tenenbaum,
Ashley Pryor, and a select few current student athletes. These top-notch coaches off er a
variety of experiences, expertise and support.

FACILITIES

Land and water sessions will take place at the Ohio State Boathouse, Scioto River, and the brand NEW Shumaker Complex, the practice and competition sites for the Ohio State Rowing team. With the exception of the fi rst morning drop off , campers will be dropped off and picked up at this location each day.

ENROLLMENT

The fee for the Rowing Summer Camp is $850 for overnight campers and $750 for day campers. The camp is open to any and all girls entering grades 9 and up in the fall of 2019. Full payment is required at the time of online registration. You may register online by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. A 3% processing fee will be added to all online registrations. If registering by mail, please make checks payable to The Ohio State University. Please makes checks payable to The Ohio State University. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registering the day of the camp must pay with credit card, cash, or money order. No exceptions will be made.

DISCOUNTS

Registration postmarked by January 31 will receive a $50 discount. Campers registerting as part of a group of 3 or more are eligible to receive a $50 discount off each camper’s registration fee.

REQUIRED FORMS FOR PARTICIPATION

The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. These forms must be completed during online registrations. Upon receipt of mail-in registrations, we will email a link to complete these forms online. Athletes will not be permitted to participate without these forms.

MEALS & HOUSING

All meals will be provided for overnight campers. Lunch will be provided for day campers. Campers will be housed in air conditioned, university dorms on south campus.

CONFIRMATION

Upon processing of each registration, a confirmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of “Important Information for Registered Campers” (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps at least 2 weeks prior to the start of each camp. This packet will not be separately mailed to campers.
Please check your email regularly, as this is our primary method of communication with campers and their parents.

REFUNDS

A refund less a $100 administrative fee (overnight campers) or a $50 administrative fee (day campers) will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of camp. The administrative fee and the 3% online processing are not refundable for ANY reason.

Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of camp will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.

A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail, email, or fax – no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session. Refund requests must be submitted on the Refund Request Form available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com/camps. Campers who are injured while at camp but remain at camp will not be eligible for any refund.
