The Ohio State baseball team got the 2018 campaign off to a strong start with a doubleheader sweep at the Snowbird Classic Friday afternoon at Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte, Fla. The Buckeyes (2-0) came from behind to defeat Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 11-7, in game one before taking down Canisius, 6-4, in game two of the twinbill.

Ages 5-12 | 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.


The Buckeye Youth Summer Academy will help teach valuable life skills as well as provide professional baseball instruction. The mornings will consist of skillspecific instruction, including hitting, base running, pitching, fielding, bunting, and strength training, followed by position-specific training. Campers will then take a 45-minute lunch break ending with a discussion on a motivational quote. After lunch, campers will compete in games and will be instructed in live game situations for the next hour. Following their baseball games, the academy will switch focus and play fun games and have a daily class of “What it means to be a Buckeye”. Campers will be taught through games, tours, and team-building skills to demonstrate the qualities of responsibility, respect, leadership, sportsmanship and teamwork that Buckeyes possess. Campers will have the opportunity to tour Ohio State’s campus and many different Buckeye Athletic facilities. Campers will play games such as dodge ball, kickball, home run derby, slip and slide, and many more. The academy will help campers learn about OSU history and develop confidence in their baseball ability through improved athleticism and increased baseball skill. The fee for this camp is $260 per session. The Youth Academy Camps are open to any and all boys ages 5-12. To help accommodate parents’ schedules, early arrivals or late departures from camp are available for an additional $30. Full payment is required at the time of online registration. Any non-scholastic group of 5 or more that wishes to pay with one check for the entire group must do so ahead of time via mail. Any non-scholastic organization with a group of 5 or more registering the day of the camp must pay with credit card, cash, or money order. No exceptions will be made.

Children of Ohio State University employees are eligible to receive a discounted employee rate at $210 per camp session. Proof of employment (i.e., copy of employee or BuckID) and payment must be submitted with the registration. Campers registering as part of a group of 4 or more are eligible to receive the discounted group rate at $230 per camper. If registering as a group, all registrations must be submitted together, along with payment, by mail. Discounts are not available through online registration. The Parent Consent, Waiver & Release Form AND the Concussion Information Form are REQUIRED for all participants. Please visit to obtain these forms. Please complete, sign and send the forms with your child to check-in – do not send the forms to us prior to the date of camp. Athletes will not be permitted to participate without these forms.

All campers are responsible for bringing their own equipment. No equipment will be provided to ANY camper.

No meals will be provided, campers should bring a packed lunch each day. The Youth Academy Camps are day camps only and no overnight accommodations will be provided. Campers are responsible for providing their own overnight accommodations if needed. Hotel information can be provided upon request.

Upon processing of each registration, a confirmation notice will be sent by email. A packet of “Important Information for Registered Campers” (including the Parent Consent & Waiver Form and Concussion Information Form) will be posted online at at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp. This packet will not be separately mailed to campers.

A refund less a $25 administrative fee will be issued for any cancellation received by at least 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp. The administrative fee and the 3% online processing fee are not refundable for ANY reason.

Because we have to guarantee our number of campers in order to prepare for camp, any cancellation received less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp will not be eligible for any refund except in the case of injury, illness, or mandatory school event, in which case supporting documentation from a doctor or school is required.

A camp fee may not be transferred to any other Ohio State sports camp. A camp fee may not be transferred to any other camper. All cancellation notices must be received by the deadline above and submitted by mail, email, or fax – no phone calls or voicemails. All supporting documentation required for a refund to be approved and processed must be submitted within 10 days after the conclusion of the camp session.
