COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team posted a 194.675 to finish fourth at a quad-meet hosted by No. 20 Missouri on Friday night at the Hearnes Center. The Tigers clinched the win with a 196.775, followed by No. 11 Minnesota (196.675) and Lindenwood (194.700).
The Buckeyes (6-8, 4-6 B1G) earned a pair of event titles as a team thanks to a 49.350 on vault and 49.150 on uneven bars.
The evening began on balance beam, where Ella Hodges paced the team with a 9.800 to place eighth. Ohio State registered an overall score of 47.025 on the event.
The Buckeyes moved on to floor exercise for the second rotation and notched a 49.150 to finish third. Olivia Aepli and Alexis Hankins both scored a 9.850, which was good enough for a four-way tie for sixth.
Elexis Edwards shined in her collegiate debut with a 9.925 on vault to claim a first-place finish. Raina Malas and Sydney Jennings were locked for fourth behind scores of 9.875.
The night concluded on uneven bars, where Aepli tied for gold as she tallied a 9.875. Colby Miller finished in fourth place with a 9.850.
The Buckeyes continue their road journey when they travel to Tucson, Ariz. for a tri-meet against Arizona and Bridgeport at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 8.
