COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s golf team fired a 10-under 274 on the final day of the Marshall Invitational Tuesday to capture its second-consecutive team title with a 54-hole score of 18-under 834 on the par-71, 6,573 yard Guyan Golf Club in Huntington, W.Va.

With the victory, the Buckeyes continue their dominance at the Marshall Invitational as the squad captured it 19th overall team title. A runner-up seven times total, the Scarlet and Gray have now claimed victory in 1974, 1975, 1976, 1979, 1983, 1984, 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1996, 2001, 2004, 2010 and 2011.

Senior Alex Redfield carded a field-best 6-under 65 in the final round to vault from 11th at the start of the day to first, capturing his first-career individual title with a three-round score of 9-under 204. The individual win is also the 15th in Ohio State history at the tournament with the last coming in 2004.  His score of 204 is career-low for the Columbus product and Redfield led the squad with a total of 14 birdies over 56 holes.

Freshman Boo Timko kicked off his collegiate career with a solid finish, tying for seventh with 6-under 207. The Girard, Ohio, native shot a 68 in the final round to combine with the 71 and 68 shot Monday. Junior Jamie Sindelar put together a consistent performance and carded an even 71 for a three-round total of 3-under 210 to finish tied for 12th.

Also competing in his first-collegiate tournament was redshirt freshman Logan Jones. The Dublin, Ohio, native concluded the day with an even 71 and finished tied for 35th with a 3-over 216. Senior Dan Charen shot a 1-under 70 and came in tied for 40th (4-over, 217).

Junior Matt Turner, playing as an individual, closed out the tournament in a tie for 25th with a 1-over 214.

The Buckeyes make a quick turnaround and travel to Olympia Fields, Ill., for the Olympia Fields/Fighting Illini Invitational, Sept. 16-18.
