COLUMBUS, Ohio – Dual season comes to an end Saturday night (Feb. 15) in Happy Valley when the Buckeyes face No. 2 Penn State at 7:30 p.m. ET inside the Bryce Jordan Center. Big Ten Network is broadcasting not only the dual but also a 30-minute pre-match preview show.

The Buckeyes come in at No. 6 in this week’s dual-based NWCA Coaches Poll. However, Ohio State is slotted third nationally across the board in all major media outlets’ tournament rankings. FloWrestling, Trackwrestling, Intermat, TheOpenMat and WIN Magazine have all placed the Buckeyes No. 3 this week with Penn State coming in at No. 2.

The NCAA released its second set of Coaches Panel and RPI rankings today (Feb. 13). While national rankings from FloWrestling and other national wrestling media outlets are fun for fan fodder, none truly matter like the NCAA Coaches Panel and RPI rankings which serve as two of three prongs utilized to determine the quantity of automatic bids to the NCAA Championships that are available at each conference tournament across the country.

Three Buckeyes, Luke Pletcher (141 lbs), Sammy Sasso (149) and Kollin Moore (197), can be found atop their weight class according to the Coaches Panel. Iowa’s pair are the only other set of teammates to be ranked No. 1. In the RPI, Ohio State is the only squad in the country to be represented at No. 1 multiple times (Pletcher and Moore).

Kollin Moore’s .905 career winning percentage (106-11) is the eighth best in Ohio State wrestling history.
