COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s cross country programs spent last week free of competition and preparing for the Commodore Classic. The meet is hosted by Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn. The men are scheduled to run an 8k Saturday Sept. 14 at 9:30 a.m. ET and the women will run a 6k at 10:15 a.m. ET.
The Commodore Classic is set to be an elite competition as four programs are ranked in the national coaches’ preseason poll, including the Buckeyes, who rank No. 26 in the nation.

Men – Auburn, Belmont, Georgia, High Point, Indiana, Kennesaw State, Lipscomb, Louisville, Missouri, Middle Tennessee, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, Tennessee Tech, Western Kentucky, Vanderbilt and Xavier.
A Look Back
The men’s cross country team opened its 2019 campaign at the Miami Opener as well and tallied 56 points, good for a runner-up finish behind Indiana. Ohio State’s top performance came from senior Luke Landis who finished fourth overall (25:56.5).
