Sophomores Kelsey Becker, Tiffany Dittmer and Noelle Malley make up the traveling party for the Buckeyes. All three will compete in Flight A singles, while Malley and Dittmer will compete together in Flight A doubles. Malley enters Flight A singles as the No. 2 seed.
The Buckeyes are joined at the event by Pittsburgh, Virginia Tech, Duquesne, Cleveland State and Youngstown State, as well as the hosting Mountaineers.
Becker and Dittmer opened their fall seasons at the Muirfield Collegiate Tennis Invitational Sept. 16-18. Becker picked up a pair of singles victories and a doubles win alongside Dittmer, who earned a trio of singles wins at the event.
The tournament is the first of the 2011-12 season for Malley. Last year, the Kansas City, Mo., native led the freshmen with 11 singles wins, including a pair of conference victories. Malley also notched a team-high 17 doubles wins, mostly alongside Kara Cecil.
Following the conclusion of the Martha Thorn Invitational, the Buckeyes will begin preparations to host the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional Oct. 20-25.
