UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The Ohio State men’s volleyball team traveled to Happy Valley for exhibition competition versus York University and Penn State University. The Buckeyes defeated York 3-1 (23-25, 25-13, 25-19, 28-26) while splitting four sets played against the Nittany Lions (21-25, 25-23, 21-25, 25-23).

Nicolas Szerszen (3.29), Driss Guessouss (2.88), Michael Henchy (2.83) and Miles Johnson (2.50) each average two and a half kills or more per set during the PSU Fall Invitational. Guessous paced the Buckeye quartet with a .562 attacking efficiency, followed closely by Szerszen’s .488 swinging clip. Setters Christy Blough (10.33) and Marco Grasso (5.50) combined for 15.83 assists per set.

As a unit, the Buckeyes out-blocked the competition 2.12 to 1.25 per set, limiting the opposition’s attacking percentage .67 points fewer than Ohio State’s. Shawn Herron led the way with eight blocks (1s, 7 a).
