COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s volleyball team will host the Russia State University of Physical Education, Sport and Tourism for two 7 p.m. matches, Nov. 29 and 30 in St. John Arena. Admission is free and the matches will conclude Ohio State’s fall practice.
The Russian team, with support from Athletes in Action, will travel to the United States to play Ohio State twice and play matches at Lewis University (Romeoville, Ill.) and Loyola-Chicago University (Chicago, Ill.).
“We are very excited to play against international competition right here in Columbus,” OSU head coach Pete Hanson said. “We have had a wonderful fall season and this is a great way to conclude this portion of our year. It is also a great way for the community to see international volleyball at its finest.”
The four-time defending Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association champion Buckeyes will open their 2011 schedule Jan. 9 and 10 at national powerhouse Pepperdine University in Malibu, Calif.
