COLUMBUS, Ohio – No. 3 Ohio State has reached the NCAA Quarterfinals for the 16th time in program history and will take on No. 6 Georgia this Thursday night at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla. The match is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. first serve.

  • This will be the 21st all-time meeting between Ohio State and Georgia but it will be the first in the NCAA Tournament between the two perennial contenders. Georgia leads the all-time series 14-6
  • The last four meetings between the teams came during a home-and-home series from 2017-20. The home team won each match 4-0 all four times.
  • The teams have met three times in the ITA Indoor Team Championships with Georgia winning two of the three meetings in 2005, 2007 and 2008.
  • The two coaches have combined to win 1,452 matches (Manny Diaz – 769, Ty Tucker 683)
  • Ohio State 32-2 on the season, marking the 13th time in program history with 30 or more wins in a season.
  • The Buckeyes finished a perfect 20-0 at home this season after defeating Arizona 4-2 last Saturday in the Super Regional Round.
  • Ohio State has won 17-consecutive matches entering the quarterfinals
  • Georgia is 23-6 on the year and won its 32nd SEC regular season title this year with a perfect 12-0 record. The Bulldogs beat Kentucky 5-2 in the regular season meeting but then fell 4-3 in the SEC Tournament Championship to the Wildcats.
  • Georgia took down Florida Gulf Coast and Oklahoma in the first two rounds and then beat Harvard 4-2 in the Super Regional Round last weekend.
  • Ohio State has a record of 65-22 (.747) in this its 23rd overall NCAA Tournament appearance
  • The Buckeyes five players ranked in the Top 41 of the singles rankings, the most of any school in the country. Stanford is the next closest with three.
  • A total of seven players will be competing in the singles and doubles championships next week
