COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University men’s golf team was recognized by the Golf Coaches Association of America this week, earning All-Academic Team honors. Programs need to post a team grade point average of 3.0 or better to receive the GCAA accolade.

Last week, rising senior Boo Timko has been recognized as a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar for the 2013-14 academic year. He is one of 207 Division-I men’s golfers to earn the prestigious accolade. Timko is the 12th different Buckeye to earn All-America Scholar recognition all-time, racking up a total of 19 awards.

To be eligible an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years, participate in 50 percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Recipients must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
