COLUMBUS, Ohio – The No. 11-ranked Ohio State women’s tennis team swept TCU, 7-0, Sunday in a neutral site match in Tempe, Ariz., notching its third shutout in the last four matches. The Buckeyes improve to 8-2 with their second win of the weekend, while the Horned Frogs fall to 6-4. Ohio State topped Arizona State, 4-3, Saturday.
The squad clinched the doubles point with after posting wins on courts two and three. Ohio State won five of six singles matches in straight sets for the shutout victory.

“It was a good day today. Kolie Allen just keeps stepping up for us. Andrea Ballinger came up big in doubles to clinch the doubles point. I thought today was a great team win from everyone.”
The duo of Danielle Wolf and Luna Dormet notched the first doubles win for the Buckeyes after topping Chloe Hule and Stevie Kennedy, 6-3, on court three. Shortly after, Ellie Douglas and Aleksa Cveticanin of the Horned Frogs beat No. 21-ranked Shiori Fukuda and Isabelle Boulais to even the score. The pair of freshman Kolie Allen and senior Andrea Ballinger defeated Kate Paulus and Mercedes Aristegui 7-5 on court three to clinch the doubles point.
No. 72-ranked Shiori Fukuda downed Aleksa Cveticanin on court two, 6-0, 6-2, moving the Buckeye lead to 2-0. Mary Beth Hurley then posted a 6-1, 6-3 win on court six over Stevie Kennedy for the squad’s second singles victory. It was within minutes Danielle Wolf finished off the Horned Frogs by defeating Addy Guevara on court five, 6-3, 6-4, claiming the point needed for the Buckeye victory.
The teams decided to play out the remaining matches.
Freshman No. 48-ranked Kolie Allen defeated Mercedes Aristegui 7-6 (6), 6-3 on court three, extending the Buckeye lead. On court one, No. 64 Isabelle Boulais topped Ellie Douglas, winning both sets in a tiebreaker.
The match wrapped up on court five between Luna Dormet and Kate Paulus. The Horned Frog won the first set, 6-2, but the Buckeye came back and posted a quick 6-3 set win to force a third. Dormet claimed the match with a 7-5 victory in the decisive set.
Allen leads the Buckeyes with a 10-0 record in dual matches this year. Dormet and Boulais follow with 8-1 ledgers.
The Buckeyes will head home for a week day match up against Youngstown State. The Scarlet and Gray will take on the Penguins at noon and 5 p.m. Thursday in the Varsity Tennis Center.
