COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team is tied for third at 15-over par after 36 holes of the Lady Buckeye Invitational Saturday at the Ohio State University Scarlet Course. Five Buckeyes are ranked in the Top 25 through two rounds of play.
“I think we have a really solid team and our depth showed today,” Therese Hession, Ohio State head coach and director of golf, said. “We struggled to get some putts to drop to get some really low scores but the team hung in there. Everybody was engaged through both rounds and it was a very solid day from a team perspective.”
Freshmen Aneka Seumanutafa and Lauren Peter are tied for 11th at 4-over as Peter tied for her career low in the opening round with a 1-under 71. Junior Adeena Shears sits tied for 17th at 5-over while senior Niki Schroeder is tied for 21st at 6-over and freshman Skylar Thompson is tied for 23rd at 7-over.
Sophomores Alanis Sakuma and Sofia Seldemirova, both playing as individuals, are tied for 40th at 9-over, while fellow sophomore Yukie Sasaki is tied for 47th at 10-over and junior Alex Wright, also playing as an individual, rounds out the Buckeye lineup in a tie for 63rd at 15-over.
