Buckeyes Sit 10th after First Day at Glass City Invitational

TOLEDO, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s golf team sits 10th after the 36 holes of the Glass City Invitational Monday at Inverness Club. Final-round play begins with tee times starting at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

Sophomore Skylar Thompson bounced back from a 5-over 77 in the first round to card a career-low 1-under 71 to sit tied for 18th at 4-over. Fellow sophomore Lauren Peter is tied for 30th at 6-over after going 75-75 and another sophomore, Aneka Seumanutafa, is tied for 40th at 8-over after posting a 77-75 day.

Senior Adeena Shears carded a pair of 78’s and is tied for 56th at 12-over while junior Alanis Sakuma rebounded from an opening-round 84 to post a 76 in the second round and is tied for 71st at 16-over. Junior Yukie Sasaki sits 73rd at 17-over and another junior, Sofia Seldemirova, is tied for 74th at 19-over.

Thompson, who sits tied for fourth in par-4 scoring at 1-over, carded the only eagle of the tournament so far in the second round on the 284-yard par-4 16th hole, while Peter is tied for ninth in par-5 scoring at 1-under.
