Chicago, Ill – Both men’s and women’s teams competed in the 41st annual Loyola Lakefront Invitational. The women had eight runners finish with career best times and the men had seven runners with career bests. The women placed third with a team score of 85 points and the men finished ninth with 248 points.
How it Happened – Women
• Senior Emily Stoodley led the scoring efforts for the Buckeyes with a career best time of 17:08.03 placing 9th.
• Senior Julia Rizk was the next Buckeye to cross the threshold placing 13th with a career best time of 17:19.74.
•Lainey Studebaker, a junior, placed 21st with a season best time of 17:35.03.
• Sophomore Kalee Soehnlen came in right behind Studebaker with a personal best time of 17:35.84 placing 22nd.
•Rounding out the scoring efforts for the Buckeyes was Senior runner Sarah Kanney. Kanney placed 28th with a season best time of 17:39.42.
•Devon Leahy (17:54.48), Brittany Atkinson (17:58.67) Gabby Dilick (18:18.87), Ellie Weber (18:43.94) and Grace Thomas (18;57.03) all clocked in career best times.
•Lilly Saniel-Banrey (18:22.37), Claire Wiles (18:43.89) and Courtney Clody (19:08.94) all clocked season best times.
How it Happened – Men
•Senior Luke Landis led the scoring efforts for the Buckeyes. Landis crossed the finish line with a career best 8k time of 24:33.34 placing 12th.
• Sophomore Paul Bete also finished with a career best 8k time of 24:52.31 placing 27th.
•Alex Lomong, a junior, took 54th with a season best 8k time of 25:19.95.
•Rounding out the scoring efforts for the Buckeyes was sophomore Noah Corbett with a season best time of 25:34.97 and freshmen Nick Regas, who finished with a career best 8k time of 25:44.61.
•Mikey Zedan (25:50.64), Steve Bauers (26:11.64), Joe Pappas (26:20.58), Eric Halford (26:30.74) and Sean O’Connell (26:31.44) all clocked in career best 8k times.
Both teams will travel to Madison, Wis. for Pre-Nationals.
