Buckeyes Set For Clash With Binghamton On Friday

COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio State University women’s lacrosse team returns to action after a 10-day layoff when it hits the road to face the Binghamton University Bearcats. The non-conference tilt is set for a 4 p.m. start on Friday at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The game can be streamed on ESPN3 through the Watch ESPN app.

Last Time Out

The Buckeyes found themselves in a deep hole in their last outing against the University of Cincinnati Bearcats. UC held a seven-goal lead in the opening minutes of the second half, 13-6, but Ohio State caught fire and mounted a rally that fell short, dropping the game 17-12.

Molly Wood finished with four goals, and four draw controls. Baley Parrott scored two goals, three draw controls, scooped up a pair of ground balls and caused two turnovers. Lauren Sherry also scored two goals, both on free position shots. Liza Hernandez tallied one goal, two assists, four ground balls and four draw controls on the evening. Mackenzie Maring also snagged four ground balls, while Erika Keselman came away with three ground balls.

Buckeyes By The Numbers

Liza Hernandez leads the way for the Buckeyes with 15 points this season. The sophomore has 13 goals and two assists already. She’s also scooped up 10 ground balls, tied for the team lead. Junior transfer McKayla Conti has made an immediate impact, tallying 10 points from six goals and four assists. Sara Dickinson also has 10 points from an even split of five goals and five assists. Baley Parrott has eight goals already this year, good for second on the team. She also ranks second in draw controls with 16. Molly Wood leads the team in draw controls with 17, and she has seven goals to go along with her draw control proficiency.

About The Bearcats

Binghamton comes into the weekend with wins over Fresno State, Lafayette College and Colgate this season. The Bearcats are led by Jacqueline Kennedy’s 13 goals and two assists. Rebecca Golderman ranks second on the team with 10 goals and three assists, while Brianna Arthur has 11 goals and a lone assist this season. Golderman also had a team high 20 draw controls. Alexa Franze has snagged a team high 17 ground balls, Kennedy comes in second on the team with 14 ground balls.
