COLUMBUS, Ohio – Katelyn Abein took first overall with an aggregate score of 1704 as Ohio State fired a team total of 6755 to finish first overall at Navy this weekend. The Buckeyes’ score best that of Navy (6450) and VMI (5594).
Abein took first place in the air pistol and sport pistol while teammate Jackson Leverett finished first in the standard pistol. Overall, all six of the top placeholders in the aggregate scoring were Buckeyes: Abein (first), Jackson Leverett (second), Maria Tsarik (third), Abbie Leverett (fourth), Henry Leverett (fifth) and Johnathan Dorsten (sixth).
The Buckeyes had at least the top three finishers in all three events – air pistol, sport pistol and standard pistol – with their strongest showing coming in the standard pistol as they swept the top five spots.
The second half of Ohio State’s 2022-23 season continues this weekend, Jan. 27-28, when the Buckeyes travel to Army.
