COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s lacrosse team turned in yet another successful semester in the classroom this spring to close out the 2022-23 academic year.
Overall, the team earned a cumulative grade-point average of 3.54, extending the team’s streak of over a 3.20 GPA to 14 semesters. Forty-four players earned OSU Scholar-Athlete honors for earning a 3.0 or higher this year.
“At Ohio State, we take pride in holding a high academic standard, and our men have continued to exceed those expectations,” Ohio State head coach Nick Myers said. “I’m proud of our student-athletes and their commitment to excellence not just on the field, but in the classroom as well.”
Closing out their first year in college, freshmen Gavin Begonia, Cullen Brown, Sam Burns, Blake Eiland, Coleman Kraske and Griffin Liedel all earned grade-point averages of 3.5 or higher this spring.
Buckeyes who boasted unblemished 4.0 marks this semester include Drew Blanchard, Kyle Borda, Sam Faber, Aidan Kenley, Connor Mitchell, Jack Myers and Mitchell Sandberg.
To cap off another strong academic year for the Buckeyes, 16 student-athletes earned degrees at Spring Commencement earlier this month. This year’s spring graduates are Blanchard, Borda, James Cipolla, Faber, James Hogan, Caton Johnson, Jason Knox, Mitchell, Myers, Garrett Nilsen, Mitchell Pehlke, Carson Raney, Justin Sherrer, Jake Snyder, Skylar Wahlund and Stephen Zupicich.
