COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State swimming and diving returns to action this week, competing in the annual Scarlet and Gray intrasquad meet on Friday. Beginning at 3 p.m. at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, the meet will give alumni and fans the opportunity to preview the 2021-22 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The meet will follow a 16-event format with diving competition taking place separately on Friday morning. The 2021-22 men’s and women’s rosters feature the return of 11 and nine All-Americans from last season, respectively. Ohio State earned historic marks at the 2021 NCAA Championships as both the men and women finished seventh overall. The Buckeye program enters the season with a combined nine event titles from the 2021 Big Ten Championships and a team title on the women’s side.
The official start to the season is Friday, Oct. 29 and 30 as the Buckeyes host Virginia Tech, Indiana and Penn State in a two-day double dual.
The intrasquad meet is just one of the events planned for the program’s Alumni Weekend. Following the Scarlet and Gray meet, Ohio State swimming and diving will hold a celebration of life for Coach Bill Wadley. Programming is set to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday features the alumni meet set to begin at 9 a.m. Alumni are invited to attend a breakfast from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and warmup for the alumni meet opens at 8:30 p.m.
