COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will return to competitive action at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion for the first time this season, hosting the Scarlet vs. Gray exhibition. Scheduled to take place Friday at 5 p.m. (ET), the co-ed meet will give alumni and fans the opportunity to preview the 2014-15 Ohio State Buckeyes.
The Ohio State women’s team, under the direction of swimming coach Bill Dorenkott and diving coach Justin Sochor, will open its dual meet season Thursday, Oct. 23 traveling to Oxford, Ohio to take on Miami University. The Buckeyes will return to Columbus for a double-dual meet with Cincinnati and Purdue the following day, Oct. 24. The team is coming off a stellar showing at the 50th Annual Dennis Stark Relays hosted by Notre Dame. Ohio State placed first in the team competition, winning nine of the 10 races contested.
The Ohio State men’s team, led by swimming coach Bill Wadley and diving coach Sochor, will host its annual alumni weekend in conjunction with the Scarlet vs. Gray exhibition. On Saturday, former and current Buckeyes will face off in the Alumni vs. Varsity showdown, slated to begin at 11 a.m. Current team members will then host the alums for a social at 12 p.m. All events will be held at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion.
The Buckeye men will open their season with a home dual vs. in-state foe Cincinnati on Friday, Oct. 24.
