COLUMBUS, Ohio – Riding a four-match winning streak, including three straight over top-25 squads, the Ohio State women’s volleyball team cracked the top-25 itself this week. The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) poll slotted Ohio State #22 while the NCAA’s RPI rankings place OSU 23rd nationally.
The Buckeyes are 13-5 overall and 4-2 in conference play. Seven Big Ten schools can be found in the AVCA top-25: #5 Wisconsin, #7 Penn State, #13 Nebraska, #14 Purdue, #15 Illinois, #22 Ohio State and #23 Minnesota. In addition, Northwestern is receiving votes and is the ‘first team out’ of the top-25.
The NCAA RPI has five B1G teams rated in the top-25: #6 Wisconsin, #10 Nebraska, #11 Illinois, #15 Penn State and #23 Ohio State.
Ohio State heads to the Hoosier State this weekend, taking on Indiana Friday night before heading to Boilermaker Country for a Saturday night showdown with Purdue.
