COLUMBUS, Ohio – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released its preseason poll on Monday. The Buckeyes were ranked 11th in the fall season’s first poll. View full rankings HERE.
Ohio State finished the 2021 spring season ranked in the top 20 for the final eight-consecutive weeks and the top-10 for the final five-consecutive polls. The Buckeyes topped out at No. 8 on April 5 and concluded the season at No. 10 on April 26.
Prior to spring 2021 OSU was most recently ranked in 2017, when the Buckeyes were ranked as high as 20. The last time Ohio State cracked the top 10 was during the 2015 season when the Buckeyes rose as high as No. 6 on October 12.
The Buckeyes finished the 2021 spring season with a 16-4 overall record and a 15-3 mark in Big Ten play. Ohio State earned a spot in the NCAA Regional Semifinal with a 3-0 sweep against Missouri before falling to Florida by a 3-1 mark to conclude the season.
