LINCOLN, Neb. – Playing in their first outdoor Big Ten match this season, the top-ranked Ohio State men’s tennis team downed host Nebraska 6-1 on Friday evening at the Dillon Tennis Center in Lincoln.

Ohio State improves to 21-2 overall on the season and 6-0 in Big Ten play.

The Buckeyes dropped just two games combined between the three doubles matches in route to claiming the first point. Martin Joyce and JJ Wolf rolled 6-0 on court one while Hunter Tubert and John McNally posted a 6-1 win on court three. Kyle Seelig and Alex Kobelt were also well on their way to a win as they led 5-1 when the point was decided.

Wolf made quick work of No. 93 Toby Boyer 6-0, 6-1 to make it 2-0 Buckeyes. James Trotter followed not too long after with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Alvaro Moreno Lozano on court six and the Buckeyes were in front 3-0.

Alex Kobelt provided the clinching point on court five with a 6-2, 6-4 win over Isaac Nortey. Kyle Seelig posted his fifth consecutive win with a 6-4, 6-2 and the Buckeyes led 5-0.

The Cornhuskers got on the board with a win from William Gleason over Joyce on court three but McNally provided the final margin with a 7-6, 4-6, 1-0 win on court two over Micah Klousia.

Ohio State will make the 300 mile trek east to Iowa City to take on the Hawkeyes on Sunday afternoon. The last visit to Iowa City was last April when the Buckeyes claimed the 2018 Big Ten Tournament title.
