COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s and women’s track and field program will compete in The Alex Wilson Invitational this Saturday, Feb. 22. The meet is hosted by Notre Dame University and is set to begin at 10:30 a.m. ET with the women’s weight throw. Running events will also start at 10:30 a.m. with the men’s 5,000-meter run.
Last Time Out
All eyes were on Anavia Battle as she became the world leader in the 200-meter dash taking first in the event. She registered a 22.66 which was also a facility record at the Clemson University Indoor Complex. Battle is the first female Buckeye to have the fastest time in the world in the 200-meter. The junior is a four-time Big Ten Champion and was named Freshman of the Year in 2018.
The men’s 4×400-meter relay team rounded out the Clemson Tiger Paw Invite with a second place finish. The team of Donnie James, Tyler Johnson, Andre Jeff and RJ Russell registered a time of 3:07.35. Chance Ehrnesberger claimed a fourth place finish in the men’s shot put with a distance of 17.16-meters.
