Buckeyes Picked as MIVA Favorites in 2017

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University men’s volleyball team has been selected by the league’s coaches as favorites to win the 2017 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association championship. The ’17 Preseason Poll was released on Thursday (Dec. 15) and came accompanied with the 10-member Preseason All-MIVA Team. Forty percent of the Preseason All-MIVA Team was comprised of Buckeyes in Christy Blough, Gabriel Domecus, Miles Johnson and Nicolas Szerszen.

Ohio State garnered 80 points and eight of nine possible first-place votes. Lewis slotted in second with 69 points and received the other first-place choice. As the top vote-getter individually, Szerszen has also been named the 2017 MIVA Preseason Player of the Year.
