JUPITER, Fla. – Ohio State women’s golf opened its 2021 season in Florida on Saturday with a match against Big Ten rival Northwestern. Playing a head-to-head match at the Abacoa GC in Jupiter, Fla., the Buckeyes fell 4-1-1.
The lone OSU win on the day came from sophomore Skylar Thompson. The Georgia native bested Charlotte Hillary 2 and 1. The Buckeyes also got a half point from newcomer Kailie Vongsaga, who halved her match with graduate Brooke Riley.
The Buckeyes will look to split the trip as they head to Baco Raton on Monday for a match with FAU at Boca Lago CC. That will also be the site of the Buckeyes first stroke play tournament of the year, the FAU Paradise Invitational, on Feb. 8-9.
