The 12-team field and schedule for the 2009 2K Sports Classic benefiting Coaches vs. Cancer men’s college basketball tournament has been completed.
Syracuse, North Carolina, Ohio State and Cal will serve as the four Regional Round hosts for the event. The tournament will begin with Regional Round action, November 9-12, with the four host schools automatically advancing to the Championship Rounds at Madison Square Garden on November 19th and 20th.

North Carolina returns as the defending National Champion.

Ohio State returns all five starters to a team that went 22-11 last season and is expected to be at the top of the Big Ten.

Cal returns four starters to a team that produced 22 wins last season and is predicted to contend for a Pac-10 Championship.

Albany returns leading scorers Tim Ambrose (14.3 ppg) and Will Harris (12.9 ppg).

Alcorn State returns junior guard Troy Jackson, who led the SWAC in scoring (20 ppg).

Detroit returns head coach Ray McCallum for his second year at the helm.

Florida International welcomes new head coach Isiah Thomas.

James Madison will look to build upon a successful 21-win campaign a season ago.

Murray State will look to build upon last year’s third place finish in the OVC.

North Carolina Central returns leading scorer Jamar Briscoe (17.8 ppg).

Robert Morris won the Northeast Conference title with an overall record of 24-11.
