COLUMBUS, Ohio – Last month, Ohio State publicly unveiled the new Covelli Center, which will be the new training home for both men’s and women’s gymnastics, men’s and women’s volleyball and wrestling. The complex is over 81,000 square feet with an arena that seats 3,700.
On Wednesday, the men’s gymnastics team held its first practice in the new facility. This season, the Buckeyes will host three meets in Covelli with the home opener against Oklahoma and Arizona State set for Jan. 18. The following month, OSU will take on Michigan Feb. 1 and the squad will host its last meet in Covelli against Navy Feb. 29.
The state-of-the-art facility allows for the greatest flexibility in the use of space by accommodating various configurations specifically designed for each competition. Coaches and teams will benefit from up-to-date locker rooms, offices, film rooms, meeting rooms, lounges, training and treatment rooms.
