Buckeyes in Super Bowl LVI

Former Buckeyes Eli Apple, Vonn Bell, Sam Hubbard, Joe Burrow, Jordan Fuller, and Isaiah Prince are all representing the State of Ohio — both collegiately and professionally — in Super Bowl LVI.

Fuller, in only his second season, is a captain and starting safety for the for the Rams. Apple, Bell, Burrow (OSU/LSU), Hubbard and Prince all start or contribute significantly for the Bengals.

Jordan Fuller - Ohio State 2016-19 - Los Angeles Rams

*Fuller is injured and will not play in Super Bowl LVI

Ohio State Overview
• One of the great student-athletes in football history
• Named school’s 22nd NFF Scholar-Athlete and three-times earned Academic All-America accolades
• Led the team in tackles in 2018, second in 2017 and third in 2019 and totaled 224 career tackles
• Also recorded five interceptions, including twice against Michigan (2018 and 2017), and 10 pass break-ups for 15 total passes defensed
• First-team all-Big Ten safety as a senior when he totaled 62 tackles, two interceptions and four PBUs
• Team captain in 2018 and 2019

Eli Apple - Ohio State 2014-2018 - Cincinnati Bengals

Ohio State Overview

  • Spent three seasons (2013-15) at Ohio State, with a redshirt year in ’13
  • Played in 28 career games (27 starts) in two seasons of action, and totaled 86 tackles, four INTs and 18 PDs
  • Played in 15 games (14 starts) as a redshirt freshman on Ohio State’s 2014 national championship team

Vonn Bell - Ohio State 2013-15 - Cincinnati Bengals

Ohio State Overview

  • Posted career totals of 176 tackles, nine INTs, 24 PDs and two FRs
  • First-team All-American (AP) as junior, and semifinalist for Jim Thorpe Award (nation’s top DB)
  • As sophomore in 2014, started 14 games and had 92 tackles (second on team) for OSU team that won national championship in first-ever College Football Playoff

Sam Hubbard - Ohio State 2014-17 - Cincinnati Bengals

Ohio State Overview

  • Hubbard spent four years at Ohio State, was a first-team Academic All-American in 2016 and was a force along the defensive line for Ohio State teams that posted a combined record of 35-5 (49-6 counting his red-shirt year of 2014) including a 23-3 record vs. Big Ten teams and a 3-0 mark vs. Michigan.
  • He ranks 15th all-time at Ohio State in both quarterback sacks with 17.0 and tackles-for-loss yardage with 154.
  • He contributed 29.5 total tackles for loss during his career and 116 tackles.
  • He also had an interception, three pass break-ups, two fumble recoveries and three forced fumbles.
  • In addition to his Academic All-America honor, Hubbard was a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and OSU Scholar-Athlete.

Joe Burrow - Ohio State 2015-17 / LSU 2018-19 - Cincinnati Bengals

Ohio State Overview 

  • Spent final two seasons (2018-19) at Louisiana State, after beginning career at Ohio State (’15-17; redshirt season in ’15)
  • Ohio State career totals were 10 games played (all as a reserve), 29 completions, 39 attempts, 287 passing yards and two TDs
  • Graduated from OSU in spring of 2018, then transferred to LSU and was eligible to play immediately

Isaiah Prince - Ohio State 2016-2019 - Cincinnati Bengals

Ohio State Overview:

  • Three-year starter at right tackle for the Buckeyes who played in every game – 54 – from 2016-2019
  • Started every game from the beginning of his sophomore season on and finished with 41 starts
  • Elected a team captain as a senior
  • Earned first-team all-Big Ten Conference honors from the coaches as a senior when the team was third in the Big Ten in fewest sacks allowed while setting Big Ten records for pass completions, yards and touchdowns
  • Was a part of Ohio State teams that won consecutive Big Ten championships in 2017 and 2018 and had bowl game wins over No. 8 Notre Dame (2016 Fiesta Bowl), No. 8 USC (2018 Cotton Bowl) and No. 9 Washington (2019 Rose Bowl) … he also played in four victories over Michigan
