Buckeyes in the NFL – Week 5

Marshon Lattimore, Ezekiel Elliott, Pete Werner, Nick Bosa and Justin Fields highlight week 5 of the NFL season.

Marshon Lattimore Shines in a Battle of NFL Buckeyes

The game between the New Orleans Saints and Washington Football Team featured seven Ohio State players, including the Saints trio of Marshon Lattimore, Malcom Jenkins and Pete Werner. Lattimore matched up with Terry McLaurin and held the former Buckeye wideout to just 46 yards on 11 targets. Lattimore had six pass breakups in the win for the Saints.

Jenkins and Werner combined for 20 of the Saints’ 61 tackles. Starting for the second time this season, Werner led the Saints with 13 stops.

On the other side of the ball, Chase Young collected a strip sack for WFT.

Zeke Continues to Eat

Ezekiel Elliott hit the 100-yard mark for second time in two weeks, rushing for 110 yards and scoring twice in a 44-20 win for the Dallas Cowboys over the New York Giants. He’s rushed for 253 yards with three touchdowns over the last two weeks.

Other Buckeyes to see action in this game were Billy Price, Nate Ebner and Justin Hilliard for the Giants. Price made his fourth start of the season at center.

Noah Brown, Malik Hooker and Jake McQuaid played for the Cowboys. Brown caught his first, second and third passes of the season and finished with 36 receiving yards. Hooker helped the Cowboys remain undefeated at home by registering six tackles.

Nick Bosa is a Sack Machine

Nick Bosa recorded his fifth sack of the season in a 17-10 loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. He dropped Kyler Murray for a 15-yard loss and became the first 49er player to record five sacks in five games since Bryant Young in 2005.

Fields First TD Pass

Justin Fields, who was named the Chicago Bears No. 1 quarterback last week, tossed a two-yard TD pass to Jesper Horsted early in the second quarter for his first touchdown in an NFL regular-season game. He connected on 12 of his 20 attempts in the win for the Bears over the Las Vegas Raiders.
