It was a battle of former Buckeyes this week as Kosta Koufos and the Kings squared off with Mike Conley and the Grizzles to start the week. The week culminated Sunday night as Mike Conley and the Grizzles squared off against D’Angelo Russell’s Lakers.
Buckeye fans have the opportunity to watch Evan Turner and the Blazers play the Timberwolves on Thursday night (10:30 p.m. ET / TNT). D’Angelo Russell and the Lakers play Minnesota on Sunday night (9:30 p.m. / NBA TV).
Averaging 20.5 points, 6.4 assists, and 3.6 rebounds on the year.
In the first Buckeye vs. Buckeye matchup Monday night Conley scored 22 points and added nine assists as the Grizzles fell one point short of defeating the Kings 91-90.
Conley put up 20 points, 12 assists and three rebounds Sunday night in his showdown against D’Angelo Russell as the Grizzles fell 108-103.
Koufos, in his ninth season as a pro, is averaging 6.6 points and 5.7 rebounds on the season.
The veteran Koufos was held out of two games on the week, while only suiting up for the showdown with Mike Conley Monday night.
Koufos scored 11 points while grabbing five boards and adding three blocks and two steals in his lone action of the week Monday night as the Kings defeated Mike Conley and the Grizzles 91-90.
Russell is averaging 15.7 points, 4.8 assists and 3.5 rebounds in his sophomore season.
Russell scored 28 points, adding five assists and six rebounds against Mike Conley and the Grizzles to take the 108-103 victory Sunday night.
Sullinger was waived by the Phoenix Suns Friday, one day after being acquired in a trade from the Toronto Raptors before the trade deadline.
Sullinger is eligible to participate in the playoffs if signed this season.
Averaging 9.1 points, 3.1 assists, and 3.7 rebounds on the season.
Turner scored 18 points, adding two assists and two steals in the Trailblazers’ 130-117 victory over the Phoenix Suns Saturday night.
