Buckeyes in Seventh after Opening Day at Bryan National Collegiate

Browns Summit, N.C. – The Ohio State women’s golf team sits seventh at 8-over after the opening round of the Bryan National Collegiate Friday at the Bryan Park Champions Course.

Sophomore Yukie Sasaki sits in a tie for 13th after opening the tournament with a 72. Freshman Aneka Seumanutufa sits in a tie for 25th after opening the tournament with a 2-over 74. Senior Niki Schroeder and junior Adeena Shears are in a tie for 39th after notching a 3-over 75. Freshman Lauren Peter shot a 6-over 78 to round out the Buckeye lineup.

Sophomore Sofia Seldemirova who is competing individually for the Buckeyes, aced the 155-yard par-3 12th hole and shot a 2-over 74 to tie for 25th.

As a team, the Buckeyes tied for most pars of any team with 60. Individually, Sasaki tied for the most pars at 16. Seldemirova tied for tops in par-3 scoring at 1-under while tallying the only eagle of the opening day with her hole-in-one.
