COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s tennis team competed in Ann Arbor, Mich., at the Michigan Invite to kick off the spring season. The tournament included doubles and singles matches between the No. 25 Buckeyes, No. 14 Michigan, No. 22 Tennessee and TCU, with no team scoring.
Ohio State notched eight singles and four doubles wins during the three-day span. Junior Mary Beth Hurley captured all three of her singles matches. She defeated Michigan’s Anca Craciun, TCU’s Marie Norris and Michigan’s Lanie Van Linge. Senior Danielle Wolf earned two singles wins, the first against TCU’s Kate Paulus and the second against Tennessee’s Rebeka Mertena. Buckeye Isabelle Boulais also earned one singles victory against TCU’s Stevie Kennedy.
No. 11 Shiori Fukuda won both of her singles matches, her first against No. 26 Giulia Pairone of Michigan and her second against Tennessee’s Kaitlin Staines. She also won both of her doubles matches with Irina Cantos Siemers. The duo took down Tennessee’s Hadley Doyle and Rebeka Mertena and Alyvia Jones and Andrea Cerdan of Michigan. Cantos Siemers, ranked 58th, also defeated Michigan’s Bella Lorenzini the first day.
Jones also won both of her doubles matches. The first, with partner Danielle Wolf, resulted in taking down the Tennessee duo of Carly Briggs and Ariadna Riley. Her second was with partner Boulais, as they defeated Michigan’s Pairone and Lommer.

The Buckeyes start dual match play next weekend with ITA Kick-Off Weekend. No. 25 Ohio State will travel to Stillwater, Okla., with the site hosted by No. 11 Oklahoma State. Ohio State will face No. 24 Wake Forest in the first round at 4 p.m. ET Jan. 25, with the host Cowgirls taking on San Diego State. Winners (3 p.m. ET) and losers (noon ET) will meet on day two, with the site winner advancing to the ITA Team Indoor Championship.
Ohio State will open its home slate vs. No. 5 Duke at 5 p.m. Jan. 31.
