OHIO STATE AT THE NIKE COLLEGIATE INVITATIONAL

  • Ohio State has played in all six previous installments of the Nike Collegiate Invitational, dating back to 2014.
  • Last season, the Buckeyes tied for 10th with Oregon at the event played at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
  • Will Grimmer was the team leader last year, shooting 72-67-69 (208) to finish two-under and tie for fifth place.

THE COURSE

  • Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club was built in 1992 and from day one was recognized as elite, being selected to host the 1996 U.S. Amateur. The 36-hole club was created to be reminiscent of Scotland and Great Britain’s iconic courses that have shaped the history of the sport. The two courses on the grounds are Ghost Creek and Witch Hollow, which will play host the NCI. The par 72, 7,017 yard course was created to blend into the natural surroundings alongside the Cascade Mountains. The immaculate course snakes its way through woods, wetlands, lakes, and ponds and along with undulating fairways and wide greens produces a stiff test for all who traverse it.

BUCKEYE BACKDROP

  • The Buckeyes finished their first tournament of the year in sixth at the Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio.
  • Three players made their Ohio State debut at the Inverness, including Felix Kvarnstrom, Patrick Schmucking, and Jackson Chandler.
  • Kvarnstrom started off his Buckeye career with a strong performance, shooting a one-over 214 (74-72-68) to tie for fourth place in tough conditions.
