Buckeyes Finish Seventh in Directors’ Cup Standings

COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the final set of Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings for the 2017-18 season, Ohio State notched a seventh-place standing behind seven Top 5 finishes. The 2017-18 campaign marks the eighth time in the last 10 years the Buckeyes, who finished with more points than any school during the winter season, placed in the Top 10.

Seven Ohio State teams placed in the Top 5 of their respective sports. Both the wrestling and men’s tennis teams placed second while fencing, men’s and women’s ice hockey and men’s volleyball placed third and football finished fifth.

The Learfield Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Complete standings and the scoring structure can be found on NACDA’s website at www.directorscup.org.
