ERIN, Wisc. – Ohio State completed play at the Marquette Intercollegiate on Tuesday at Erin Hills, posting a final round 296 to finish in 12th place in the 17-team field.
Individually, JonErik Alford and Maxwell Moldovan each finished at 1-under par for the 54 holes. For Alford, this was the first under-par tournament of his Buckeye career. For Moldovan, this was his fifth under-par event and his second round of 67 or lower in his career. Both he and Alford tied for 34th.
Patrick Schmucking followed his 3-udner 69 on Monday with a 1-over 73 on Tuesday and finished the tournament at even-par 216. This was his best finish as Buckeye as well.
Freshman Jacob Tarkany carded a 76 in his first collegiate round but played the final 36 holes at even-par and finished the tournament 4-over. Grant Engle capped his tournament with a 77 and finished at 9-over par.
The Buckeyes will be right back in action next week at the Maridoe Invitational at Maridoe Golf Club in Dallas, Texas. The Golf Channel will provide coverage of the event.
