The Rose Bowl champion Ohio State Buckeyes finished No. 5 in both the USA Today coaches’ and the Associated Press media football polls released today.

This marks the fourth time in the past five seasons that Ohio State has finished the year ranked among the Top 5; OSU was ranked No. 5 following the 2007 season, No. 2 after the 2006 season and No. 4 after the 2005 season. The Buckeyes were ranked ninth after the 2008 campaign.

Ohio State has finished in the Top 5 nationally 23 times and in the Top 10 36 times since the national polls began in 1936.



































Ohio State was one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the Top 16, along with No. 7 Iowa, No. 8 Penn State and No. 16 Wisconsin.
