Philadelphia– The Ohio State fencing squad finished competition at the Penn-Princeton Invitational Saturday, squaring off against Penn and Princeton fencers in both team and individual competition. 

The Buckeyes pulled a 28-26 victory over Penn in team competition, highlighted by big wins from the men’s epee, women’s foil and women’s epee units, 6-3 each. The Scarlet and Gray fell to Princeton, 21-33, with another win coming from the women’s foil unit. 

In individual competition, Chris Colley, Joe Guinan and Celina Merza earned first place finishes for the men’s epee, men’s foil and women’s saber units, respectively. For the women’s unit, seven Buckeyes finished in the Top 10, highlighted by Top 3 Mona Shaito, 2, Eleanor Harvey, 3T, and Eugenia Falqui, 3T. Seven Buckeyes earned Top 10 for the men’s unit, also. 

Next up for the Buckeyes is the December Div. I, II NAC competition in Dallas on Dec. 13.
