Buckeyes Fall to No. 2 Notre Dame

 COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s lacrosse team traveled to South Bend, Ind. to take on No. 2 Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish edged the Buckeyes 18-7, moving their record to 4-2 on the season.

THE SHORT STORY
The Buckeyes got goals from four different players against Notre Dame. Liza Hernandez registered a hat tricks during the first period, while Chloe Johnson and Nicole Ferrara each scored a goal for Ohio State. Nicole Ferrara scored another goal in the second period along with Ali BeekhuzienJill Rizzo made 11 saves in goal.

HOW THE GOALS WERE SCORED

  • Liza Hernandez put a goal on the board first for the Buckeyes, leading Notre Dame 1-0.
  • Notre Dame answered with their own goal early in the period to tie the game but the Buckeyes stayed close behind. Liza Hernandez, Chloe Johnson and Nicole Ferrara all scored goals to end the first period 7-5 against No. 2 Notre Dame.
  • Notre Dame held the lead against the Buckeyes throughout the second period going up 8-5 two minutes in and never let up.
  • Ohio State saw second period goals from Nicole Ferrera and Ali Beekhuizen to end the game 18-7.
