COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State men’s volleyball team (2-4, 1-1 MIVA) fell to No. 3 Lewis (6-1, 1-1 MIVA) in straight sets (25-23, 25-21, 25-11) on Saturday afternoon in the Covelli Center.
Jacob Pasteur recorded the first Buckeye double-double of the season and of his career (11 kills, 11 digs). Martin Lallemand tallied six kills, five digs and two service aces while Michael Wright posted 23 assists, eight digs and four kills. Jack Stevens (6), Austin Gerwig (4) and Samuel Clark (3) also added kills to the stats sheet.
SET 1: Ohio State scored three straight points for an 11-10 edge before Lewis locked the set at 17-all. The Flyers went up 24-20 and the Buckeyes were able to cut the deficit to one with Pasteur’s ace but an error handed Lewis the frame, 25-23.
SET 2: The Flyers put together a 6-1 run to take a 14-9 lead. Ohio State tried to rally as it pulled within two, 22-20. Lewis had three of the last four points to take the set, 25-21.
SET 3: The Buckeyes burned both timeouts early as they trailed 8-1. The Flyers kept rolling for a 25-11 tally.
Ohio State visits McKendree for a MIVA series Feb. 12-13.
