COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Rifle Team got their spring season underway firing a score of 4,619 against the University of Alaska.
In smallbore the Buckeyes were led by senior Rhiann Travis who fired a 572. She was followed by sophomore Annie Tomb (570), senior Jacob Buchanan (568), and sophomores Ariel Hall (565) and Annabelle Stanec (562). Freshmen Natalie Katsuyama (566) and Joel Potts (563) led the way for the individuals while fellow freshman Katie Ezell (557), and juniors Mica Harr (553), Jared Minor (552), and Megan Wilcoxson (547) rounded out individual scoring.
In air rifle the team was led by a season best equaling score of 592 for Travis. Tomb (586), Buchanan (585), Hall (581), and Ezell (580) rounded out team scoring. Katsuyama (586) and Minor (584) led the way for the individuals while Harr (581), Stanec (579), Potts (566), and Wilcoxson (563) rounded out individual scoring.
“It was good to get our 2020 underway on Sunday,” said head coach Ryan Tanoue. “The match with Alaska was a bit of a struggle, but the team is working hard and we’ll look to get back on track with two matches coming up at TCU next weekend.”
The team has a short week before returning to action at TCU on Saturday, January 18th and Sunday, January 19th.
