COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Ohio State Rifle concluded the Fall portion of the 2019-20 season with a score of 4,651 against Air Force in Colorado Springs.
In Smallbore Ohio State fired a team score of 2,302 led by a season best score of 583 for senior Rhiann Travis. She was followed by sophomores Ariel Hall (579) and Annie Tomb (570), senior Jacob Buchanan (570), and sophomore Annabelle Stanec (566). A trio of freshmen made up the team’s individual performers with Katie Ezell leading the way firing a 572. Joel Potts posted a personal best 569 and Natalie Katsuyama rounded out individual scoring with a 562.
In air rifle the Buckeyes were led by Tomb who fired a score of 590. She was followed closely by Travis (589), Hall (587), Ezell (583), and Stanec (580). Buchanan led the way for the individuals with a score of 584 while Potts and Katsuyama rounded out individual scoring by both firing scores of 579.
“It was great to see the team bounce back with a better performance this week to end the Fall portion of our season,” Ryan Tanoue, head coach, said. “We had several season and personal best performances which we have seen a lot of over the course of the season thus far. We’ll need to keep pushing hard for those types of performances when we return in the Spring and are looking forward to some really great matches in 2020.”
Ohio State returns to action at home on Sunday, January 12th against the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.
