BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The Ohio State women’s soccer team was edged by Indiana, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at Yeagley Field at Armstrong Stadium in Bloomington. With the loss, the Buckeyes drop to 4-8-2, 2-4-1 in the Big Ten, while the Hoosiers improve to 7-6-1, 3-3-1 in conference play.

Ohio State closes its home schedule against Northwestern at 7 p.m. Thursday and Illinois at 2 p.m. Sunday.

MATCH SUMMARY
– Indiana got on the board less than 10 minutes in on a goal by Alaina Kalin. Avery Lockwood found Kalin on the top left side of the box and Kalin placed a left-footed shot from the top of the 18 inside the top right corner for the 1-0 advantage.
– The Buckeyes, who were playing into the wind for the first 45 minutes, managed to record six corners in the opening half with their best chance coming in the 37th minute. A corner fell to the foot of Haley Walker-Robinson, who hit her volley from 20 yards toward the right post but Indiana goalkeeper Bethany Kopel made a diving stop ranging to her left.
– After having the better of the run of play for the final 20 minutes of the first half, the Buckeyes continued to press forward in the second. In the 65th minute, Kitty Jones-Black got her head on a Rodriguez corner but Kopel was there for the stop.
– In the 77th minute, Rodriguez played a beautiful low cross from the left wing to Meghan Kammerdeiner at the center of the box but the flick by the redshirt junior narrowly missed wide right.
– The Buckeyes’ final quality chance came in the 82nd minute when a Kayla Fischer cross from the right wing found Walker-Robinson at the far post but Kopel again was able to deflect the volley from eight yards wide as the Hoosiers came away with the victory.

– Izzy Rodriguez played the full 90 minutes once again, extending her team-best consecutive minutes played streak to 2,783. Both Rodriguez and senior Marike Mousset have played every minute of the season so far.
