COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Ohio State dropped the final game of the three-game weekend series at Maryland 9-4 on Sunday afternoon in College Park.
The loss drops the Buckeyes to 13-12 on the season.
At the plate, Mitchell Okuley led the Buckeyes with three hits which included a pair of doubles and an RBI. Zach Dezenzo and Kade Kern each had two hits in the game. Dezenzo’s two hits were both doubles and he drove in two.

The Buckeyes struck first with four runs in the third inning. Okuley doubled to right-center to score Nick Erwin Wilson who was hit by a pitch to start the inning. Dezenzo followed with his first double of the game to chase home Sam Wilson and Okuley and then he later scored on a Kern single.
But the lead was short lived as Maryland got a solo home run to lead off its half of the third and then a three-run shot later in the inning to tie the game. The Terrapins pushed two more across in the fourth and then put the game out of reach with three more runs in the sixth.
The Buckeyes will look to rebound as they return home next weekend to host Penn State. Game one of the series is set for 6:30 p.m. on Friday evening.
