COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s soccer team (2-1-1 BIG) fell 2-1 at Rutgers (4-1-0 B1G) Sunday at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, New Jersey.
The Buckeyes headed into the half down 1-0. The Scarlet Knights scored in the 43rd minute to take the lead. Ohio State outshot Rutgers 3-2 over the first 45 minutes with Rutgers owning the edge in shots 6-5.
Ohio State tied the match in the 49th minute on a Kine Flotre goal, her second of the season. Emma Sears and Kayla Fischer assisted.

Flotre, a freshman midfielder from Fjellhamar, Norway, scored for the second time in as many games. Sears, a sophomore forward from Dublin, Ohio, recorded her first assist of the season and second of her career. Fischer, a junior forward from Kent, Ohio, has two assists this year and eight for her career.
For the game, Ohio State outshot the Scarlet Knights 13-8 and owned a 5-4 edge in shots on net.
Ohio State faces Penn State Saturday (3 p.m.) in Columbus at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. It will be the first outdoor game in Columbus for the Buckeyes this season.
