Day Two  Results
Cincinnati, Ohio— From start to finish it was an excellent weekend for Ohio State’s women’s swimming team, who captured first place at a quad meet hosted by the University of Cincinnati.

A day after setting a whopping six pool records at Keating Aquatic Center, Buckeye swimmers set five more during Saturday’s competition.

In addition to the 400 freestyle relay team that posted a time of 3:23.80 (crushing the previous record by four seconds), Lindsey Clary, Meg Bailey, Liz Li, and Zulal Zeren all set new pool records today. Clary won the first individual event of the day, the 1000 freestyle, with a time of 9:57.50, the only swimmer to go sub-10:00 in that event. Right after her was Bailey, who placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:01.61. Li came out on top in the 50 freestyle, a familiar outcome for her, with a record-setting time of 22.76. Lastly Zeren swept the backstroke events with a win in the 200 yard variety today; her time of 2:00.80 is the fastest the pool has ever seen.

Even outside of the record setters, Ohio State had a fantastic day. It started out with a win in the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:45.60, featured a second first place finish from Bailey and one from Taylor Vargo. Bailey won the final individual event of the meet, the 200 butterfly, thanks to her time of 2:00.67, which topped the second place finisher by five seconds. Vargo added another impressive breaststroke performance to her season, swimming 200 yards in 2:7.62. In the 200 freestyle, Ohio State’s Kathleen Cook was the team’s top finisher with a time of 1:52.81.

Next up for Ohio State is a dual meet against conference foe Michigan State in East Lansing. The meet takes place on Friday, Jan. 20. The following day the Buckeyes return home to face Akron and Pittsburgh.
