COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State pistol team hosted one of seven sectionals shooting to qualify for the Collegiate Nationals, March 15-19 at Fort Benning, Georgia. Ten open and five women’s teams will qualify for the Nationals. Qualifying teams will be announced once all seven sectional results are turned in.

In the open events Ohio State shoot a 6,350 to Michigan State’s 5,690. The Buckeyes won all three open events shooting 2,044 in free, 2,109 in standard and 2,197 in air pistol. OSU’s Aaron Tourigny posted top scores in free (524) and air (557) pistol. Buckeye Joe Totts was first in standard pistol with a 550. OSU’s Bryan Basenback was the top shooter in the three-gun aggregate with a 1,616.

In women’s competition, Kimberly Hullings was the top shooter in both air (357) and sport (567) pistol. She posted the top two-gun aggregate score of 924.

Next week, the Buckeyes will compete at Akron on Sunday, Feb. 13.
