Buckeyes Cap 2021 Season at NCAA Regional Final

MORGANTOWN, W. Va. – The Ohio State women’s gymnastics team placed fourth at the NCAA Morgantown Regional Final with a team score of 195.625. The Buckeyes finished behind Michigan (198.100), California (197.750) and UCLA (197.275).

The 2021 season came to a close after tonight’s competition as only the top-two teams from each regional qualifies to compete at the NCAA Championships later this month.

Ohio State started the night on beam and scored a 48.950. Ella Hodges was the highest-scoring Buckeye with a 9.900, which tied for fourth place. Emma Pritchard and Jenna Swartzentruber added a pair of 9.825s.

Next on floor, Brooke Chesney led off with a solid 9.800. Claire Gagliardi topped the team after registering a 9.850 in the five spot. The Buckeyes ended the rotation with a score of 48.875.

The team made its way over to vault, where it posted a 48.950. Elexis Edwards earned a team-high 9.850, followed by Sydney Jennings’s score of a 9.825. Morgan Lowe and Swartzentruber both had a 9.800.

The evening concluded on bars with an event score of 48.850. For a second time this weekend, Colby Miller delivered a stunning performance and registered a 9.900. Swartzentruber anchored the Buckeyes with a 9.875.
