Buckeyes Back On the Road After Successful Virginia Trip

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeye squads split this weekend as the Scarlet team competes at the University of Arizona Collegiate Open on Friday and Saturday while the Gray team heads to Massachusetts for the Wheaton College Invitational on Saturday.

 In its first road trip of the season, the Ohio State synchronized (artistic) swimming team earned wins over Richmond and William & Mary on Feb. 12-13. The Buckeyes won every category to remain undefeated on the season. The meets marked the return of a long-time Buckeye tradition of taking the bus ride to Virginia to compete against the Spiders and the Tribe.

Ohio State started the weekend at Richmond on Saturday, earning a 90-40 victory over the Spiders. In the duet, Camryn Carrasco and Rose Homoelle led the way with a routine score of 79.9000. Victoria Carlson and Caroline Walsh followed with an earned score of 76.667. Olivia Schafer competed in the solo category for the Buckeyes, earning a 78.4000 win. In its second time competing its full team routine this season, the Gray squad of Marian Catahan, Ava Lichter, Paula Luis, Olivia Malloy, Reverie Nedde, Olivia Schafer, Haley Watson, Camryn Carrasco earned a score of 79.4667. The trio of Carrasco, Lichter and Nedde took first with a score of 77.0333 while Luis, Watson and Wong finished second with 76.4667 points.
